Version 1.2: Round Announcements, Smarter Audio, and a Smoother Timer
Boxing Timer Champ version 1.2 is live! This update brings meaningful upgrades to how you track sessions, hear feedback, and use the timer in landscape mode. I've also resolved several bugs and smoothed out rough edges to keep focus on your training.
The biggest addition in this release is the new voice-based round announcements. This feature helps you stay concentrated instead of having to look back at your phone to check what round it is. These improvements are combined with audio and layout fixes, making the 1.2 update bring a noticeable quality-of-life improvement to your sessions.
What's New in Version 1.2
- Round Announcements: You can now enable voice cues to hear what round you're on, so you can stay focused without checking the screen.
- Smarter Session Tracking: The app now shows your target vs. actual rounds and session time, giving you more precise data for tracking results.
- Improved Landscape Mode: You can now mute/unmute and exit the timer directly in landscape, matching the portrait experience.
- Audio and Layout Fixes: Smoother audio experience with more reliable sound management and mixing.
How to Use Round Announcements
The new Round Announcements feature lets you hear which round you’re on at the start of each round so you can stay focused.

Steps
- Tap the settings cog in the top right of the main screen.
- Enable the Round Announcements setting in Timer Settings.
- Start your timer like normal.
At the beginning of each round, you should hear a voice announce the round number. If you don't, check if sound is enabled and if your device's volume is turned up.
Update: Version 1.2.1
A small but meaningful patch to improve performance and reliability during your workouts.
- Spotify Compatibility Fix: Resolved an issue where round alerts could interrupt background music playback.
- Higher Quality Audio: All round announcements have been upgraded from MP3 to WAV format for better clarity.

I'm continuing to refine and improve the app with each release. If you have feedback or ideas, I'm interested. Thank you for reading. More upgrades are on the way.
